The Infinite Slowness – Lichen Encounters project instrumentalises artistic practice to gain knowledge from the world of lichens and learn environmental care and survival strategies. It explores the symbiotic relationship between rocks, lichens, and humans through theoretical research and experiential knowledge. The project intends to learn positive ways of cooperating with ecosystems towards sustainability by inquiring into this microscopic organism's morphology, ecological role and intelligence. The study employs a cross-disciplinary approach to foster a deeper environmental connection, including relational aesthetics, soft surfaces, printing, textile sculpture, installation, collective actions in space, video, and sound.
